From Print to Pixels: My Journey Through the World of Design and Media

I am Sultan Mahmud Mirdha, a passionate Graphic Designer, Motion Graphic, and Layout Artist with extensive experience in the creative and multimedia industry. My journey has been driven by a deep love for design, innovation, and visual storytelling, which continues to inspire my work every day.

As the Founder of Soft N Tech, I lead a creative establishment that offers high-quality services in Graphic Design, Web Development, Printing, and Video Editing. Through dedication and perseverance, I have built Soft N Tech into a trusted name for clients seeking design excellence and innovation.

My creative journey began in 1996 at Seuj Printing Press, where I learned the foundations of print design and developed a keen eye for detail. Over the years, I expanded my expertise to include digital design, motion graphics, and web development, working with several respected organizations. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Web Developer-cum-Graphic and DTP Advisor at Dainik Gana Adhikar, and as a Graphic Designer-cum-Motion Graphic Artist with Polity Watch during the 2016 Assam Assembly Election.

Alongside design, I’ve gained valuable experience in various other roles — from working as a Proofreader, Reporter, and Part-time Faculty of Computer Education, to serving as Personal Secretary to Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi, MLA and General Secretary (Admn.) of AIUDF. These diverse experiences have strengthened my adaptability, communication, and organizational skills.

I am proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, as well as CorelDraw and MS Office. My technical versatility enables me to deliver high-quality creative solutions across print, digital, and motion design platforms.

Beyond design, I’m deeply involved in literary and cultural activities. I’ve published poems, short stories, and articles in Assamese newspapers and served as Publicity Secretary of Char-Chapori Sahitya Parishad (2016–2020). I also developed the “Sumaya Assamese Keyboard” and contributed to integrating the Assamese language into Google Translate, supporting digital inclusion and language preservation.

Over the years, I’ve been honored with recognition from organizations such as Assam Sahitya Sanmilanee and Kayakuchi Press Association for my contributions to art, literature, and social causes.

Born on October 31, 1981, in Barpeta, Assam, I am fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali, and Assamese. Outside my professional life, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring new dimensions of design and technology. My goal is to continue creating meaningful, visually engaging work that connects creativity, culture, and innovation.
